NRL Preview: Dragons vs Rabbitohs

St George Illawarra Dragons vs South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, 7:50pm.

The second round of the NRL kicks off tonight as the South Sydney Rabbitohs pay a visit to the home of the St George Illawarra Dragons, a game that we all know is one to watch!

This is a game that has severe intensity, but not as much as it would usually have due to the round one results. The Dragons travelled up to take on the Cowboys, and needless to say, we’re horrible. Their spine looked well and truly out of sorts, and well, Matt Dufty was a waste on the bench. I see them sticking by the plan for now, but I don’t see it holding out, and until then, the Dragons look a little lost.

The Bunnies on the other hand looked incredible. After getting some nice favouritism as a serious premiership contender, that got an even bigger boost when the knocked off the defending premier with ease last week. It’s a result not many of us would of tipped to happen (unless you’re a bunny of course), but it was a result that really inserted the idea as the Rabbitohs being the team to stop the Roosters from going back to back.

With these two taking each other on tonight, it’s a game that I feel will drop a bit of intensity due to the Rabbitohs dominance and the Dragons running around like headless chooks. The Bunnies easily dismantled the Dragons not even a month ago in the Charity Shield, and well, I see it happening again tonight.

What we come to expect: I’ve pretty much convinced myself that this will well and truly be a blow out. The Rabbitohs are strong, very strong, and know they are a serious run in for another premiership, so expect the Bunnies to take out an 18 point win tonight over the Dragons.
