Salford Red Devils vs London Broncos Round 2 Super League Preview

Not many predicted victories for these sides in round 1, even fewer would have predicted wins by such comfortable margins. Salford running riot in the final 40 minutes against Huddersfield while London put in an incredible performance against Wakefield, to kickstart life back in Super League.

The visitors have a strong record against the Red Devils, the Broncos winning in both the 2016 and 2018 Qualifiers by just three points, London stunning the Red Devils with an 11-8 win at Ealing Trailfinders in 2018, in 2016 claiming a 19-16 win at the AJ Bell.

Ian Watson sticks with the same 19 that got the job done against the Giants last week, all his troops remaining fit and injury free throughout the course of the week. Danny Ward takes the same approach with his 19, clearly working under the remit of, if it's not broke don't fix it.

Salford Red Devils: Niall Evalds, Kris Welham, Junior Sa'u, Jake Bibby, Robert Lui, Lee Mossop, Josh Jones, George Griffin, Mark Flanagan, Joey Lussick, Greg Burke, Tyrone McCarthy, Ben Nakubuwai, Logan Tomkins, Derrell Olpherts, Ken Sio, Jansin Turgut, Jackson Hastings.

London Broncos: Jordan Abdull, Sadiq Adebiyi, Eddie Battye, James Cunningham, Kieran Dixon, Matt Fleming, Matty Fozard, Matt Gee, Mark Loane, Elliot Kear, Will Lovell, Nathan Mason, Ryan Morgan, Eloi Pelissier, Jay Pitts, Greg Richards, Alex Walker, Rhys Williams, Luke Yates

It's going to be a very challenging and close game, that's as good as guaranteed. Salford could be this year's dark horses and a win in the capital would put them in good stead as they go in search of a strong campaign. London will raise the intensity for the first away trip of the season, they are on a mission to prove that last week was not a one off and that the label of "favourites for the drop" has been wrongly assigned. I'm going to back Salford by a margin of 7-12 points.
