Catalans Dragons vs Huddersfield Giants Super League Round 2 Preview

These two sides will be looking to right the wrongs of last week with a win, Huddersfield picked apart at the hands of Salford last week while Catalans fell at the Jungle to a strong Tigers side with plenty of wind in their sails despite injury.

The Dragons went two for two against Huddersfield in 2018, this pushes Catalans to four wins in the last five meetings between these serial Super League strugglers. Traditionally Huddersfield do better on the road against Catalans, last year's fixture decided by only two points and the previous year's visit to the Stade Gilbert Brutus seeing the Giants leave with the win.

Arthur Romano is the only new addition to the squad this week, he replaces David Mead who is omitted from the squad for family reasons, Jodie Broughton and Greg Bird are absent through injury. Aaron Murphy returns to Simon Woolford's 19 man squad after injury kept him out of the selection process last week.

Catalans Dragons: Tony Gigot, Brayden Wiliame, Lewis Tierney, Samisoni Langi, Matty Smith, Rémi Casty, Micky McIlorum, Sam Moa, Kenny Edwards, Benjamin Garcia, Julian Bousquet, Mickael Simon, Benjamin Jullien, Matt Whitley, Alrix Da Costa, Mickael Goudemand, Jason Baitieri, Arthur Romano, Sam Tomkins

Huddersfield Giants: Darnell McIntosh, Nathan Turner, Akuila Uate, Matt Frawley, Kruise Leeming, Suaia Matagi, Joe Murphy, Alex Mellor, Michael Lawrence, Adam O'Brien, Oliver Roberts, Matty English, Simon Grix, Sebastian Ikahihifo, Adam Walne, Sam Hewitt, Innes Senior, Izaac Farrell, Joe Wardle.

I'm going to back a Catalans win for this one, they had a very tough round one fixture in the form of a trip to Castleford, a 20-4 scoreline is hardly an embarrassment but it will have spurred them on through the course of the week. Catalans will win this game by a margin of 13+ points.
