Castleford Tigers vs Catalans Dragons Super League Round 1 Preview

The Seasons Opener for two teams with huge potential tonight with expectation high in both camps.
Castleford have lost playmaker Luke Gale for the season but have unearthed the brightest prospect in perhaps a generation in Jacob Trueman. This boy has all the talent and surviving this tough Catalan pack of forwards will be a real test for him.

For the Tigers Greg Eden and Ben Roberts both return after missing the pre season friendly against Leeds Rhinos and Jordan Rankin could also make an appearance after his recent Swap deal from Huddersfield Giants.
The Dragons have made some big signings in Sam Tomkins and Matty Smith, and young England Knights forward Matt Whitley is also in the squad. The Tigers fans will have some high expectations after failing at the final hurdle in recent years and they have undoubted skill and power in Adam Milner, Mike McKeekan and Peter Mata:utia.
Catalan look strong down the middle with Sam Moa, Kenny Edwards and Ben Garcia sure to make some serious yards on a cold Yorkshire night. This is a long way from the South of France in June and the Chill factor could play to the advantage of the home team.

Catalan look to have a serious advantage in the three quarters however with PNG captain David Mead and English International Sam Tomkins certain to exploit any Home team weakness.

This will be a close game but the  experience in the Catalan halves should give them an 8-12 points advantage
