Kadikoy Bulls vs Red Star Belgrade - Balkan Super League Semi-final Preview

Two Balkan heavyweights are set to go head to head on Saturday for a spot in the Balkan Super League final is Serbia on the 18th of November. Kadikoy are the current Turkish domestic champions and Red Star Belgrade are the current Serbian Super League Champions, it's sure to be a huge game, especially with these two point scoring powerhouses recent form.

The Turkish season started last weekend and the Bulls opened their account in style, an 88-1 win over Olimpos, the impressive form of the Bulls has brought them this far, many tipping an all Serbian semi-final but Kadikoy coming up with an upset win when they beat Radnicki Nis 35-26 at the end of September. The other sides they have beaten on their route to the Semi final are Bosnian side Banja Luka at a score of 38 points to 6 and Belgrade Nova 34-10, giving them a points for of 107 and points against of 36, overall points difference in the BSL, +71.

Red Star Belgrade's season is almost over, this week saw them qualify for the Serbian Super League final after beating Radnicki Nis 92-2 in Radnicki. The Zvezda have swept away everything in their path thus far, beating Turkish side, the Bilgi Badgers 110-0, seeing off the Rhodes Knights 78-16, Red Star's point difference seeing them finish top of the table and jumping straight into the semi finals with a points difference of +162.

  1. We will see a lot from Red Star Belgrade in future years. As I've heard, they are growing fast, with fantastic organization. They are same club as Red Star football and basketball club, so they have aprox 4 million fans only in Serbia and aprox double that in Europe... Just wait and see... Go Reds!
