Emerging Nations World Cup Hong Kong vs Poland Preview

Poland will be raring to go for their opener against Hong Kong, the Polish side defeating Hungary in a pre-tournament test match 32-0 to set the platform to build from and their expectations of performances throughout this competition.

Hong Kong's last international test came back in June of this year, claiming a historic first ever win in a RLIF recognised test against Japan, a convincing 32-20 for the Thunder. Hong Kong have brought a large 29 man contingent with them to the Emerging Nations World Cup, of which 22 are homegrown talents found playing in Hong Kong's top domestic league.

Poland named a strong squad for their warm up game against Hungary just days before Monday's openers, the Exiles putting on a strong showing and the likes of Jayden Watene-Zelezniak and Harry Siejka working particularly well up the middle of the park.

Poland's skill will certainly be a huge challenge to contend with, the Exiles outfit making light work of the Bulls with quick hands and fast play the balls exploiting open spaces and creating chances all over the field, Hong Kong are going to have to slow this type of play down and prevent the Polish side getting on the front foot.
