Emerging Nations World Cup Africa United vs Asean Rugby League Preview

The Regional Championship section of the Emerging Nations is set to kick off on Sunday morning when the two representative sides that are made up cumulatively of over 20 nations face off in a truly enigmatic contest, Africa United making their Emerging Nations debut just 2 years after being founded against Asean Rugby League.

The Asean side will be made up of players from; Vietnam, Thailand, Maynmar, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, China and Singapore, with not enough eligible players to from each of these individual countires, they join forces to become the Asean Rugby League team, while these by no means are what you would commonly associate with "Rugby League Nations" there is more than enough experience in this side for them to be seen as a threat.

For Africa United it's a near identical story, not enough players in the seperate regions to make up a full strength team so once more they join forces, 12 nations will be represented by the pioneers of African Rugby League, Africa United, at the Emerging Nations World Cup, they are; Cameroon, Congo, Cote D'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Egypt, Ghana, Liberia, Mauritius, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan and Uganda.

This is going to be a very interesting game from a neutral point of view, both sides will no doubt very keen to do their respective nations proud in their opening fixture of this Regional Championship, the fixture will be live streamed on Bar TV Sports or if you can make it to Sydney, Kellyville Ridge will be hosting this game, kicking off at 10:45 am local time.
