Warrington Wolves vs St Helens Super 8's Round 6 Preview

This is set to be a clash of epic proportions, a win for either side will send a clear message to the other as the finals approach. Saints have secured the league leaders but their focus has no doubt been on the Grand Final, a win against the Wolves will send a clear statement of intent.

Saints are 2 for 2 against Warrigton in 2018, the league leaders winning the last meeting between these two sides 14-12 at the end of July, the other result was a more convincing 30-12 victory, this now means that Saints have won 3 of the last 5 fixtures.

Warrington welcome back; Tyrone Roberts, Kevin Brown, Chris Hill and Ben Murdoch-Masila alongside Mike Cooper to strengthen their 19 man squad, the most notable absentee is Tom Lineham, he misses this game as the first game of his 3 game ban. Saints welcome back 3 first team regulars; Ryan Morgan, Dom Peyroux and Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook return to the side in place of Aaron Smith, Matty Costello and Jack Welsby

Warrington Wolves: Ryan Atkins, Kevin Brown, Josh Charnley, Mike Cooper, Bryson Goodwin, Chris Hill, Luis Johnson, George King, Toby King, Harvey Livett, Ben Murdoch-Masila, Declan Patton, Joe Philbin, Ben Pomeroy, Stefan Ratchford, Tyrone Roberts, Morgan Smith, Bodene Thompson, Ben Westwood.

St Helens: Jonny Lomax, Tommy Makinson, Ryan Morgan, Mark Percival, Theo Fages, Kyle Amor, Zeb Taia, Jon Wilkin, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Luke Douglas, Morgan Knowles, Luke Thompson, Dom Peyroux, Danny Richardson, Regan Grace, Matty Lees, Jack Ashworth, Ben Barba, James Bentley

I'm backing a very narrow Saints win, it's going to be a close game no doubt, the man on man match ups and personal battles will be what win this game. Warrington will no doubt be up for this game, even if it is purely a formality, so this will be no walkover, I'm predicting a Saints win by 1-6 points.
