St Helens vs Castleford Tigers Super 8's Round 7 Preview

This is a game where nobody wants to really take any risks and it’s therefore a difficult game to judge at the totally wicked stadium on Friday ( kick off 19.45).

The inspirational hooker James Roby returns for the Saints along with Matty Costello and Jake Spedding. After fantastic seasons Johnny Lomax, Luke Thompson and Jon Wilkins make way.

Castleford make four changes with veteran Quentin Laulu-Togaga’e returning along with Joe Wardle , Jamie Ellis and Lewis Peachey. Perhaps some on these players will be looking for a grand final or semi final spot to crown a great season for both clubs. The tigers rest key players in Greg Eden, Mike McKeekan, Junior Moors and Michael Shenton and Tigers fans will be hoping it’s not four loses from four games in this encounter.

Whilst no team will want any injuries it’s difficult playing rugby league with one eye on the next game and this will be a big opportunity for young stars like Matty Lees, Jack Ashworth, Jake Spedding and James Bentley.

I think the quality of these young players will be a factor in this game although Castleford have their own master tactician in Jake Trueman.

I’m taking St. Helens by 12-16 points
