This game was peged as a massive battle between bitter rivals. The Sharks started the game and muscled up hard in the first few sets. The Storm taking first points of a penalty on the Sharks line

The Sharks again run out of room on the wing, the Storm squeezing the winger out the sideline.
Fafita got penalised for a crusher tackle. Kafusi's line break set the Storm up near the Shark's line so Slater to score off a Cameron Smith grubber. Smith converts the try 20-0
The second half was no better for the Sharks. A penalty to the Storm their only points. The Sharks managed a consolation try to the retiring Luke Lewis with Holmes converting in the 69th minute. From there errors on both sides finished off the game.
