NRL Finals Preview: Broncos vs Dragons

Match Preview.
It’s the second do or die game of the weekend, and the Broncos host the Dragons in an elimination game. You win, you head into next weekend to take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs. You lose, and it’s season over, pack your bags for Bali and enjoy your off season! We’re in for a thriller!
The Brisbane Broncos have come back hard in the late rounds of the season to earn themselves a home semi final after being at threat of missing the finals all together. It was a close finish to the year, the closest it’s ever been with just 2 competition points separating first from last. Although that’s a huge compliment to the sport, it’s a big win for the Broncos. It shows exactly how tight this competition is, and just 9 points on the for and against tally were the difference between the Broncos getting the home final, or the Dragons getting the home final, and with how good the Broncos are in Brisbane, it’s a massive result.
The Dragons on the other hand are in trouble. Apart from beating a well below par Tigers team, they have had some pretty rough losses as of late, and some big ones at that! The Dragons were once the best in the league mid season, and it’s not the best form to be taking into finals, however knowing exactly how good this Dragons team can be from watching them in the early rounds, it shows us that on their day, they are a top team and the Broncos are going to have to be wary of this side. They are most definitely the most unpredictable team in this finals race, and that makes them incredibly dangerous, but also makes it incredibly dangerous for the Dragons themselves. Let’s buckle up and get ready for a thriller!
Prediction: Broncos by 1.
I don’t like to blame the refs, but there’s no doubt that the Broncos have a undefeated record at home with the certain official in charge today. With that topped up with the home ground advantage and the brilliant form they have been in as of late, I have the Broncos stealing this at the death!
