Titans beat Sea Eagles in high scoring affair


Both sides playing for pride and to get themselves out of the wooden spoon battle.

Titans got on the board first with Titans winger Anthony Don crossing for the first try in the 6th minute with Ah Taylor converting the Try the Titans took a very early 6-0 lead.

Manly were next to score through their fullback Tom Trbojevic and DCE converted to even the scores at 6-6. It didn’t take long for the Sea Eagles to give their home crowd something to cheer about with Turbos brother crashing over a minute later and DCE converted and with that Manly lead 12-6.

The Manly home crowd were in for a Trbojevic show when Tom went over for his second try of the match but this time DCE couldn’t convert and Manly lead 16-6.

Joel Thompson was next to go over for Manly as they started to dominate the Titans and take control of the game. Daly Cherry-Evans converted and the Manly lead was extended to 22-6.

To close out the half the Titans were able to pull off a try of their own through rookie fullback Alexander Brimson but Taylor couldn’t convert and the half close with Manly leading 22-10.

The second half opened with Ashley Taylor scoring a try and converting his own effort to see the Titans peg back the lead and trail by 6. Manly lead 22-16.

It was long again till the Titans posted another try when Phillip Sami crosses in the 45th minute and Taylor was able to convert and even the scores at 22 a piece.

The Gold Coast were on a run and off the back of a penalty from Daly Cherry-Evans they rolled up died and Mitch Rein crashed over under the posts and Taylor converted from right in front to give the Titans a 28-22 lead.

The Titans were starting to roll up field easily and the tables had well and truely turned when Jack Stockwell went over and the video referee awarded the Try. Taylor converted again and Titans lead 34-22.

Addin Fonua Blake was sent to the sin bin for a professional foul in the 63rd minute.

The Titans were well and truely on top now and really dominating the Sea Eagles and rookie Brimson went over for his second in the 63rd minute. Taylor converted and Titans lead 40-22.

Dylan Walker was sent to the sin bin with 9 minutes remaining for a professional foul. Ashley Taylor spotted a penalty goal and Titans lead 42-22.

Jake Trbojevic crashes over in the 74th minute and DCE converted. Titans lead 42-28.
Tom Trbojevic completed a hatrick on the full time siren and DCE converted.

Titans win 42-34.
