Knights Slay the Panthers 20-10

In a Game that was filled with errors and drama. The knights put the panthers away , 20 - 6 In windy conditions at Penrith Stadium the Knights got out to a strong start, with Harding running big man Herman Ese Ese setting the platform up front to allow a nice set play for Aiden Gurara to barge in the corner for the first points of the game.

At this point the Knights were winning every battle in the game, the combination between Kaylon Ponga and Mitchell Pearce was building quite nicely. With Ponga showing his brilliance with his ability with ball in hand to get on the outside opposition players puts the panther defence under pressure and sneaks a kick through for Knights outside back Corey Denis to score their second try.

Out in front by 8 Pearce’s kicking game put the knights in the box position but a mistake at the back by the knights rookie full back would change momentum with panther five eight Tyrone May scooping on a loose ball to score a try to put Penrith’s first points on the board. But this was short lived with the Knights answering back quickly with beautiful distribution through the hands showing top level skills putting Knights Centre Mata’utia in for the try and converted by Ken Sio putting the knights ahead 14-6 heading into The break.

Despite Penrith’s effort after the break the Knights wall of defence had every answer to the panthers attack. Turning away the Panthers time after time the confidence grew on the on Knights and frustration was starting to set in for the Panthers.

Young Cleary couldn’t get any control on the game with his team making too many unforced errors. However the Knights Halves Ponga and Pearce combined to put Knights finisher Ken Sio in the corner. Penrith would score in the dying minutes and proving they were the comeback kings with late wins in previous games but Pearce and his Knights would keep fighting to the end.
