Injury hit Storm beat dismal Eels


Eels come off the back of a huge win over the sliding Dragons while Storm look to get back on track before the finals campaign.

The scoring opened through Storm center Will Chambers after the Storm built pressure and Cam Smith converted. Storm took an early 6-0 lead.

Reed Mahoney gave away a penalty in front and Storm took the 2 points on offer. 8-0.

Corey Norman didn’t get a line dropout off in time before the buzzer and Storm took the penalty goal that Smith slotted from in front.

Storm go into the halftime break with a 10-0 lead.

To open the second half Nelson Asofa-Solomona scores a big try and with Smith off through injury Brodie Croft  took over the kicking duties and kicked the conversion. Storm lead 16-0.

Cameron Munster was sin binned with 20 minutes to go for a professional foul.

The Eels has a few opportunities against a depleted Storm outfit but couldn’t convert those into points.

Storm scored again through Curtis Scott off a nice bounce of the ball but Brodie Croft shanked the kick for Conversion. Storm lead 20-0.

Eels finally got on the board with a few minutes till full time with a good try in he corner to captain Clinton Gutherson, Mitch Moses couldn’t convert. Storm 20-4.
