Match Preview.
It’s the table topping battle we’ve all be waiting for! We have the first place Melbourne Storm taking on the second place South Sydney Rabbitohs.

This game will determine wether the Storm retain the minor premiership or if the Rabbitohs can grab their first minor premiership since the 1989. With both teams tied on 30 points at the top of the table, it’s a dangerous loss for the losing side and big step towards the minor premiership for the winner. Both teams have a lighter run home, and the Storm in particular see their hardest game on the run home being the Sharks. The Rabbitohs on the other hand have a massive game next week against the Roosters, and a loss here will see that game become a possible top 4 rebuild.

This is most definitely a massive game for both teams. If Melbourne win this, you not only may as well hand them the minor premiership tomorrow, but it really lets us all know that the Storm are pushing for back to back premierships. However a loss to the Rabbitohs will not only see them drop behind South Sydney, but it then gives the Roosters the chance to jump the Storm on the premiership ladder, and will give us another minor premiership battle next week.

The Rabbitohs will lose out a little more than the Storm. Why? Because the team sitting in third place will be licking their lips! A win for the Rabbitohs, and like I stated before, it could see another table topping match up two weeks in a row if the Roosters also grab the win. However a loss to the Rabbitohs and they could fall hard! They are starting to fall behind badly in the points difference compared to the Storm and Roosters, and a loss to the Bunnies will most likely see them not only drop to third place, but the potential to drop two spots and face pressure of dropping out of the top 4 all together. And with how the Roosters have been playing lately, it’s a dangerous game for South Sydney.

Match Prediction: Storm by 2.
The fact the game is being held in Sydney makes me think that it could be a golden point game. However the Storm are hard to tip against in these situations, where as this is new territory for South Sydney. I can’t go past Melbourne here.
