Catalans Dragons vs Wigan Warriors Super 8's Round 2 Preview

The Dragons have certainly been on the emotional rollercoaster this last week or two, experiencing the highs of reaching the Challenge Cup Final, quickly followed by being beaten into submission last week by the team they are set to face off against. The Warriors took a win against Castleford last week, a game they almost cam away with nothing from after a late Tigers surge, Wigan will be hoping for something a little less tense this week.

This fixture has produced two very tight scorelines in 2018, both of them favouring the Warriors, the first a 32-23 win over in Perpignan, the second a 25-20 win in the final game of the regular season just 3 weeks ago. Catalans have struggled against Wigan in recent years on French soil, the last Dragons' win coming back on the 23rd of May 2015, a 58-16 thrashing of the Warriors.

The Dragons opt to rest 4 key players, David Mead, Remi Casty, Mickael Simon and Benjamin Garcia all sit this one out for Steve McNamarra's side, bringing in Kenny Edwards, Lewis Tierney, Fouad Yaha and Sam Moa. Wigan make just one change from the side that held out against Castleford last week, Josh Woods missing out on the 19 and replaced by Craig Mullen, Wigan still without 5 key first team players through injury, the list including Oliver Gildart and Sean O'Loughlin.

CatalansDragons: Iain THORNLEY, Brayden WILIAME, Fouad YAHA, Samisoni LANGI,  Sam MOA, Louis ANDERSON, Julian BOUSQUET, Jason BAITIERI, Michael McILORUM, Lewis TIERNEY, Benjamin JULLIEN, Lucas ALBERT, Antoni MARIA, Alrix DA COSTA,  Lambert BELMAS, Tony GIGOT, Mickael GOUDEMAND,Josh DRINKWATER, Kenny EDWARDS

Wigan Warriors: John Bateman, Tony Clubb, Tom Davies, Morgan Escare, Ben Flower, Joe Greenwood, Gabe Hamlin, Willie Isa, Samy Kibula, Tommy Leuluai, Liam Marshall, Craig Mullen, Romain Navarrete, Oliver Partington, Sam Powell, Dan Sarginson, Ryan Sutton, Sam Tomkins, George Williams.

I'm backing the Warriors to take the win in this one, Catalans shocking home record against the Cherry and White's a big factor in that decision, I'm going Wigan by 13+.
