Castleford Tigers vs Warrington Wolves Super 8's Round 2 Preview

In the week before their appearance at Wembley next week, will Warrington have their eye on the Challenge Cup Final trophy in their visit to Castleford this Friday ( kick off 7.30).

Darryl Powell reckons not, as the Wolves bring back Stefan Ratchford, Ben Murdoch-Masila and Mike Cooper with Josh Charnley, Harvey Livett and Ben Westwood being rested.

The Wolves have players hitting top form in Darryl Clarke, Tyrone Roberts and Toby King and with both teams on 31 points this game will be a real close call. There is nothing between these two teams and with 3 wins each over their last six encounters you will need the wisdom of Solomon to predict this game .

Castleford fans will be looking forward to seeing Peter Matu’utia making is home debut, and Grant Millington and the impressive Calum Turner come into the squad .

Quentin Laulu-Togaga’e, Jesse Sene-Lefao and Adam Milner also make way due to injury.

For the Tigers young Jacob Trueman looks a talented young player and these are two equally matched set of forwards. Hooker Paul McShane will as ever direct operations from the middle and much will depend on the running in response from the in form Darryl Clarke.

One of the unsung hero’s of recent weeks is Toby King and he looks a dangerous and classy centre three-quarter.

On the balance of things I’m predicting a warrington victory by 2-6 points with the heavy hitters Mike Cooper, Chris Hill and Ben Murdoch-Masila playing critical roles

Castleford Tigers 19-man squad:James Clare, Mitch Clark, Greg Eden, Jamie Ellis, Kieran Gill, Oliver Holmes, Will Maher, Nathan Massey, Peter Mata'utia, Mike McMeeken, Paul McShane, Grant Millington, Junior Moors, Michael Shenton, Jake Trueman, Calum Turner, Joe Wardle, Liam Watts, Jake Webster.
