Broncos beat the Roosters 22-8

A massively important game it was for both teams, and we all expected both teams to step up and give us a finals type performance in this match up.

It was quite the boxing match start to the game, as both teams took turns trading punches in the opening 20 minutes. A Jamayne Isaako penalty goal got the Broncos off and going early, but it was the Sydney Roosters who grabbed the first try through Blake Ferguson who dived on an attacking grubber put in by returning half Luke Keary.

The Broncos struck back only minutes later though when an inside ball passed back to a barnstorming Corey Oates saw the winger tank his way through the defensive line and grab the Broncos first try. With the Roosters grabbing a penalty goal not long after, it gave us an even scoreline 20 minutes in.

Dylan Napa saw himself spend 10 minutes in the bin for a dangerous hit on Broncos hooker Andrew McCullough. The Broncos were able to take full advantage of the man down and an attacking set resulted in a long pass out to Jamayne Isaako who put on the fancy footwork to dive over in the corner.

Not long after the Broncos struck again when a miscommunication on a bomb saw James Tedesco and Daniel Tupou both take eachother out trying to take in the kick, and Broncos half Kodi Nikorima simply picked up the ball and strolled over for the try to extend the Broncos run.

A Broncos penalty goal finished the scoring for the game, and as the Roosters continues to try and find their way over the line, the errors grew and the frustration took control. The Broncos finished strong and took home the 22-8 victory as they put an end to the Tigers season, and almost guarantee the Storm win the Minor Premiership in 2018.
