Ukraine Rugby League Update

On July 7th the Lviv Tigers took on the Kiev Rhinos to bring to an end the first half of an exciting  Ukrainian Super League season, the hosts were the favorites after an impressive win again the Kharkiv Legion Giants a couple of weeks ago, before the international break. The Kiev Rhinos were ruthless in attack, besieging the Tigers line time and time again, it would be the Rhinos who led at the halfway mark.

The Lviv Tigers clearly received a firm talking to in the half by coach, Igor Yurkin, and they came out swinging in the second half, the Rhinos making a good account of themselves but ultimately unable to make a dent in the scoreline as Lviv picked up a big win of 56-12.

Now it's time for the players to recharge their batteries as when they come back in Mid-August there's all to play for in the closing stages of the Ukrainian Super League, on top of that there is also the Rugby 9's cup in Kiev and the 2021 World Cup qualifier against Greece that could see Ukraine in to the next round of qualifying, so plenty to see if you are out in Kiev in September.
