Tigers Confine Salford To Bottom 4

The 24-6 result see's Castleford Tigers continue their fine run of form even if both sides struggled with the wet conditions in an error ridden opening quarter

Star of the show was the ever dependant Jake Webster , who at 34 continues to offer the Tigers a great potency alongside the skilled Michael Shenton.

The scores remained level in difficult conditions until a Greg Eden kick appeared to bounce all over the place before Webster seized on the opportunity to take the four

For the remainder of the half castleford did”nt seal the initiative and Salford lack that clinical finish to take advantage that they seemed to be building .However young winger Jake Bibby finally got over chasing up strongly to beat James Clare to the ball. Ex Viking and Irish international ed chamberlain converted .

The second half was all Castleford Tigers with Michael Shenton following up from a clever McShane play and man mountain Jake Webster bulldozing his way through  Salford line to leave defenders sprawling desperately in his wake .

The castleford six were far to strong for a Salford side lacking and attacking venom and the game was never in doubt for this tigers team. The final score came when Laulu Togaga’e’ sent a beautiful ball wide to Kieran gill who finished in the corner with McShane converting to seal the 24-6 victory

Coach Powell will have little to complain about although Salford’s Ian Watson will be wondering when he can get some of his injured players back in the team

On this form Salford will struggle in the middle eights but castleford are starting to fire on all cylinders and are looking good as we enter critical phases of the season .
