Salford Red Devils vs Castleford Tigers Super League Round 21 Preview

Castleford Tigers will be looking to close the gap on league leaders St. Helens and 2nd place Wigan as they travel to Salford on Friday evening ( kick off 20.00) for a game they will be confident of winning

Coach Darryl Powell makes two changes from the resounding 42-10 victory over a poor Leeds Rhinos last week with Jamie Ellis and Nathan Massey dropping out to be replaced by Joe Wardle and Young Kieran Gill.

Salford remain 6 points clear of Widnes Vikings at the bottom of super league and will be hoping to hit a period of form before the critical middle eights. Former Viking and Irish international Ed Chamberlain is likely to feature for the  Red Devil’s .

Salford are struggling with injury and speedster Greg Johnson misses out with a foot injury whilst Logan Tomkins has a similar injury and will also be absent .
Jack Littlejohn, Neal Evalds and the talented Kris Brining miss out and are still recovering from injury whilst in a depleted squad Craig Kopczak and Luke Burgess although named in the nineteen are unlikely to make the starting team.
That’s a big injury list for Salford and on present form expect the Tigers to hit them hard right from the whistle . Trueman and McShane are developing a very useful combination and that big castleford pack will just be too strong for this Salford Six .

I would anticipate a Castleford Tigers victory of 26 points plus with Greg Eden likely to feature strongly.
