RLATG National Club Championship Round 6 Results

The table has now taken shape, the Vikings now sat dead last after their loss to the Dragons, whereas at the other end of the table, the Angels now 5 points clear of third as the competition becomes a 2 horse race.

Spanish Town Vikings 08-26 Liguanea Dragons

The Vikings were on the rough end of a strong Dragons performance, Liguanea coming with a game plan of quick and controlled game play, designed to quickly phase the Vikings out of the contest. Samoi Smith grabbed a double for the Vikings but they failed to convert both tries, while the Dragons quickly asserted themselves into the game, Adrian Hall running the show from Hooker and controlling the tempo, also scoring twice to take his tally to 6 tries in 4 games.

The Dragons would continue to build into the game as Shavan Folkes, Kamoy Gayle and Matthew-Earl Whitmore all made the scoresheet, Hall converting 3 out of 5 shots at the sticks to give the Dragons a convincing 26-8 win over the Vikings to go 4th in the table.

Washington Boulevard Bulls 0-50 Duhaney Park Red Sharks

To call this game a one sided affair may just be the understatement of the century, the Red Sharks registering a huge victory over a struggling Bulls side over at JDF. Andrew Simpson setting an incredible individual record in the RLATG National Club Championship, scoring 7 tries and kicking 1 goal in the fixture to make up an impressive 30 points out of the 50 points scored, a new record in the Jamaican elite division.

Khamisi McKain,Owen Linton and Barrington Moore making up the other 3 tries scored by the Red Sharks, Duhaney without their recognised kicker as; Joseph Shae nailing 2 kicks while Owen Linton and Leon Thomas kicking 1 each as the Red Sharks moving to 2nd in the table after their win and staying hot on the heels of the GC Angels.

JDF Warriors 28-34 GC Foster Angels

At the end of last week I touted this game as a sure fire defining point in the season and that this would be the game of the week, I am glad to see I wasn't wrong as two of the RLATG National Club Championship's giants went to war. It was yet another great performance from Nickolai Kennedy working the middle of the pitch and moving his forward pack around the field, also denying a certain try as the Angels went looking for points on a quick break. Alvin Gordon the difference between the two sides on the day as he scored his first try of the season, quickly followed by his second and third. Shamar Cueary and Antonio Baker both adding to their totals for the season as well as a try from Chevaughn Bailey, Kareem Harris kicking 2 goals and Stephen Scott kicking 3 goals to move him 3rd in the best off the boot.

The Warriors ran GC close in the end, Curtis Wilmot scoring twice for JDF, Roland Gray, Kemoy Ferguson and James Gordon all making the list of scorers as the Warriors missed out on their chance to go joint 1st with the Red Sharks, Nickolai Kennedy kicking 4 out of 5 but still not enough as GC opened their lead out to 2 points over second place and 5 points over 3rd place JDF.
