Rhinos and Tigers To Face Off In Women's Challenge Cup Final

The Annual Women's Challenge Cup final is set to take place on Saturday the 4th of August at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington, the Cup final kicking off at 3PM and the Shield final between Bradford and Stanningley raising the curtain with a 1PM kick off.

Wigan Warriors 8-26 Leeds Rhinos

The Rhinos have lost just the one game this season, that loss coming to Wigan, Leeds fully aware of the threat this Warriors side pose. Leeds making a strong early start as bright young talent, Caitlin Beevers, opened the scoring on the wing off the back of a fantastic passing move, Butcher unable to convert. A captain's knock would level the scores 4 minutes later, Gemma Walsh charging the Rhinos line to score, Greemfield unable to convert. Leeds would grab two more on the verge of halftime, the first an interception from Beevers to grab her second, the second coming from Danielle Anderson too strong close to the line, the Rhinos holding a 16-4 lead into the break. Walsh and Greenfield would combine once more to open the scoring in the second half, Booth would finish the scoring for Leeds to send them to the final as 26-8 winners.

Castleford Tigers 48-12 York City Knights

The Tigers would make an electrifying start to the game, opening the scoring down the left with 7 minutes on the clock, 7 minutes later Sammy Watts would score to begin the brutal onslaught on the scoreboard. Castleford racing out to a 16-0 lead after 20 minutes when Lacey Owen burst through a gap to ground the ball, Hepworth converting her second of the day. York would capitalize on a loose Castleford pass close to their line
