Raiders hand Jack Wighton Six Game Suspension

The Canberra Raiders board of directors have come to a decision following Jack Wightons appearance in ACT Magistrates court.

Wighton is due to be sentenced later in the year with the date set for November 14, the Raiders Board of Directors set down a six game suspension following their own internal investigations and discussions.

The Raiders board took into account different facts in determining their sentence. Including Wighton’s health and well-being, rehabilitation program, community work with the Canberra PCYC along with his future court appearance.

Wighton has reached out to his victims agreeing to restorative justice which gives him the chance to repair the damage caused by his crime he committed back in February.

The Raiders have a tough run home to the end of the season and Jack Wightons Suspension comes at a tough time with the finals around the corner.

Wighton has appeared in 13 games for the Canberra Raiders and will be available for selection again in round 24 when the Raiders host the high flying South Sydney Rabbitohs.
