Penrith comeback to beat Manly

Penrith go into this match trying to get themselves back into the top 4 while Manly are trying to keep themselves off the bottom.

The first half of this match was a tight tussle and the first points came via a Daly Cherry-Evans Penalty Goal. Sea Eagles lead 2-0.

The Panthers hit back next with a try through Dean Whare. Nathan Cleary converted and Penrith take a 6-2 lead.

Rookie hooker Manase Fainu would score a try to give Manly the advantage going into halftime after Cherry-Evans converted and Manly lead 8-6 at the break.

Manly hit out quick to open the second half when Brian Kelly split the Penrith defence and passed to Cherry-Evans to streak away and score. Converting his own try and Manly lead 14-6.

The next 10 minutes saw Brian Kelly score a double and Cherry-Evans managed to convert one of his tries to give Manly a 24-6 advantage.

Penrith started to mount a come back from the 67th minute when Josh Mansour crosses the white stripe then 2 minutes later Yeo went over with Cleary converting the Yeo Try. Waqa Blake scored in the next minute and Cleary converted and Manly lead 24-22.

Nathan Cleary was the hero in this Penrith comeback scoring a try to put his team ahead and converting giving his team a 28-24 win.
