Cowboys winger calls time
North Queensland Cowboys winger has announced his retirement from Rugby League effective immediately.
Cowboys medical staff advised Winterstein to retire due to a persistent knee injury that is interrupting his career which has spanned 9 years.
He has played 213 first grade games 166 of which were with the Cowboys. Including 7 games for Samoa and 1 NRL All Stars appearance.
He retires as the fifth highest try scorer in Cowboys history behind Ty Williams, Matt Bowen, Ash Graham and Johnathan Thurston.
