Cooper Cronk could depart Roosters at seasons end

Sydney Roosters marque recruit could be on his way out of Bondi as quick as he entered.

Although Cronk has another year on his contract there are rumours circling that he could be ready to call time on his illustrious career.

The 2 time Premiership winner is starting to make a career away from the field with regular appearances on Fox league shows commentating on the game.

Those close to Cronk have said he has lost some passion for the game and at the age of 34 he is ready to become a first time parent with his partner Tara Rushton and enter the next stage of his life.

The exit of Cronk for the Roosters could open the door for the Cleary name to come back to Bondi. Nathan Cleary is coming off-contract after the 2019 season and with Cronk set to retire either at seasons end or after 2019 it sets the club up to make a play for the NSW Origin halfback.

Could this potentially open up a reuniting of the Clearys at another NRL club?
