Controlled Rabbitohs defeat Bulldogs


The Rabbitohs and Bulldogs go into this match at opposite ends of he table. The Rabbitohs are having a great season under new coach Anthony Seibold while the Bulldogs also under a new coach in club legend Dean Pay are having a season to forget.

The opening 10 minutes saw both sides let a couple of opportunities slip through their fingers as both sides looked to get some dominance early.

The scoring opened in the 19th minute off the back of a penalty to the Bulldogs and Rhyse Martin slotted the Penalty Goal.

The Rabbitohs scored the first try of the game when Robert Jennings crossed the white stripe for the 14th time in 2018. Adam Reynolds converted the try to give the Rabbitohs the lead.

The Rabbitohs found their way to the line again through Adam Reynolds not long after their first try and with Reynolds converting his own try the Rabbitohs would take a 12-2 lead going into the half time break.

The Rabbitohs extended their lead to 2 converted tries off the back of an Adam Reynolds Penalty Goal to open the second half scoring.

Robert Jennings went over in the corner for his second try of the match pushing the Rabbitohs lead even further. Reynolds failed to add the 2 points and South syndey were in front 18-2.

The Bulldogs fought hard and finally got on the board through winger Reimis Smith. Martin failed to convert the try and Rabbitohs held a 18-6 lead.

South Sydney’s Robert Jennings went over for his 3rd Try in the corner in the 71st minute to push his side ahead to a 22-6 lead. Adam Reynolds slotted the conversion from the sideline and the Rabbitohs lead grew 24-6 with 8 minutes to play.

The Rabbitohs went on and took the 2 points in a controlled display against a Bulldogs side that didn’t go away.
