Castleford Tigers vs Huddersfield Giants Super League Round 22 Preview

Huddersfield could confirm their Super League status for 2019 come Friday night against the 3rd place Tigers, Castleford currently sat 1 point behind second place Wigan and a win could see them into second if results go their way.

Castleford won the away leg of this fixture back in April of this year, a more than convincing 40-28 victory, the Tigers as good as killing the game off with 5 first half tries to give Huddersfield a mountain to climb, they will certainly be looking to do the same again.

Castleford make 3 changes to last week's squad, Peachey, Ellis and Massey all come into the squad, at the expense of, Joe Wardle, Gadwin Springer and Tuoyo Egodo. Huddersfield make just the one change to the side that beat Wigan last week, Ukuma Ta'ai returns to first team action, replacing Jacob Wardle to bolster the Giants forward pack.

Castleford Tigers: James Clare, Mitch Clark, Matt Cook, Greg Eden, Jamie Ellis, Kieran Gill, Oliver Holmes, Quentin Laulu-Togaga’e, Nathan Massey, Paul McShane, Grant Millington, Adam Milner, Junior Moors, Lewis Peachey, Jesse Sene-Lefao, Michael Shenton, Jake Trueman, Liam Watts, Jake Webster.

Huddersfield Giants: Jake Mamo, Jermaine McGillvary, Leroy Cudjoe, Jordan Turner, Aaron Murphy, Lee Gaskell, Danny Brough, Michael Lawrence, Ryan Hinchcliffe, Jordan Rankin, Ukuma Ta’ai, Paul Clough, Daniel Smith, Adam O’Brien, Alex Mellor, Darnell McIntosh, Matty English.

I'm backing a Castleford win in this fixture, while Huddersfield have been on an impressive run of form, Castleford have been one of Super League's most notoriously dangerous and consistent sides in 2018, I'm expecting no different come Friday and I'm anticipating a Castleford win by 7-12 points.
