Wigan Warriors vs Warrington Wolves Magic Weekend Preview

Wigan and Warrington meet on Saturday evening in a clash that's bound to be a close encounter, a battle between two of Super League's current form teams, Wigan unbeaten in their last 7 Super League games, Warrington unbeaten in their last 8, coincidentally both sides last loss coming against St Helens.

These two last met back in February, Warrington the victors in a close game that would finish up 16-10, this now means that Wigan have only won two of their last 7 against Warrington, this is also includes a draw back in the 2017 season. It's also to be said that their last win over Warrington was the 2016 Super League Grand Final.

Wigan are without their captain, Sean O'Loughlin, due to a calf injury. George Williams and Josh Woods return after missing out on the last couple of games through injury as is Morgan Escare. Warrington name an unchanged squad from their Challenge Cup victory over Toronto last weekend, the majority of their first choice squad fit and injury free for this one.

Wigan Warriors: John Bateman, Tony Clubb, Tom Davies, Morgan EscarĂ©, Liam Farrell, Ben Flower, Oliver Gildart, Willie Isa, Tommy Leuluai, Liam Marshall, Romain Navarrete, Sam Powell, Dan Sarginson, Ryan Sutton, Taulima Tautai, Joel Tomkins, Sam Tomkins, George Williams, Josh Woods.

Warrington Wolves: Sitaleki Akauola, Ryan Atkins, Kevin Brown, Mitch Brown, Josh Charnley, Daryl Clark, Mike Cooper, Bryson Goodwin, Chris Hill, Jack Hughes, George King, Tom Lineham, Harvey Livett, Ben Murdoch-Masila, Declan Patton, Joe Philbin, Stefan Ratchford, Tyrone Roberts, Ben Westwood.

This is down to be the game of the Magic Weekend for all the reasons stated above, both sides capable of ending each others' run of form. Who looks like the side that could have the killer blow in them? For me the answer to that question is Warrington, while Wigan have been good I believe that Warrington are leaving Newcastle with 2 points by a margin of 7-12 points.
