This game we see a side itching to climb into the Top 8 and on the other hand we have the visitors eager to climb off the bottom of the ladder for the first time this season. Both teams have a lot to play for, but only one side can come away with the two points.
The Sharks had a nail biting victory last week against the Gold Coast Titans, coming away with the 10-9 victory, with the scores at 8-9 in favour of the Sharks there was 4 minutes remaining and many thought that the Titans caused the upset against the Sharks, however moments later Chad Townsend caused a further upset by driving down field and slotting the Field Goal to give the Sharks the win.
The Eels however were locked in a back and forth game against the Wests Tigers with neither side fully able to gain control or momentum. It wasn't until a late try to Manu Ma'u got the upset victory over the Tigers giving the Eels their second win of the season.
Look for both sides to battle it out over 80 minutes as we can almost expect to have a low scoring close game.
Key Match ups: Mitchell Moses vs Chad Townsend
Both of these players have been the standouts for either side and have been focal points for key victories. Moses has been outstanding this season despite his sides horrid start to the 2018 season. However Townsend has been as consistent as he always is being a key contributor to his sides 4 wins this season.
Battle of the Forward Packs
The Sharks forwards this year have set a platform which have allowed the outside backs to run rampant all over the field however the Eels forwards have yet to really step up this season despite the brief moments they have showed thus far in what they can really accomplish. Look for both sides to try and get on the front foot early trying to get their side in dominant field position allowing both halves free reign around the field.
My Prediction:
Despite both teams finding form in the mid way part of the season, I believe the Sharks forwards are just too strong allowing Matt Moylan and Chad Townsend the ability to just pin the Eels down in their own end. I believe the Sharks will get the win over the Eels in a close narrow win by 8 points.
