Panthers defeat Knights 29-18

Penrith came out of the blocks fast with Origin hopeful Regan campbell-Gillard scoring their first try in the opening 3 minutes with James Maloney converting. 10 minutes later the away side was in again through Tyrone Peachey and James Maloney slotting the Conversion Penrith lead 12-0.

The home side hit back fairly quickly after that with five eight Connor Watson went over and his halves partner Brock Lamb converted the try.

It was Penrith again before halftime to push the lead out to 2 converted tries when Dallin Watene-Zelezniak crosses over and Maloney converted again.

Penrith lead at the half 18-6

The second half was a tight tussle till the 53rd minute when Knights sensation Kalyn Ponga went over to score a try and Ken Sio this time converting to bring the home side within a converted try.

Panthers halfback James Maloney slotted a field goal to give his side some breathing room in the 56th minute.

The Panthers scored again through Corey Harawira-Naera and with Maloney converting the Try.

The Knights went in again before the match was over through crowd favourite winger Nathan Ross with a rock Lamb converting.

The final score 29-18
