Brisbane Broncos 22 defeated the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 20

The Bulldogs travelled up to Brisbane to kickoff round 9 of the NRL, making a number of changes as they try and move up the ladder. It was a terrific start for the Bulldogs and in particular the debutant Martin with a try with one of his first touches of the match. Mbye was able to get the conversion after missing a penalty shot earlier in the game.

It was all Broncos after the try though after an error early in the Bulldogs next set. The Broncos set up camp in the Bulldogs red zone and with the aid if a few back to back penalties and another Bulldogs handling error, they finally crossed the line with Oates crossing in the corner after a lovely cut out pass from Boyd. Isaako got the conversion to level up the score after 17 minutes.

The game turned into a stalemate as both coaches went to the bench to try and get the upper hand, with the interchange of some forwards. Though the next point came of the back of a Broncos error and a penalty, allowing the Bulldogs took the lead through a Mbye penalty goal

After yet another Bulldogs error after scoring points they were almost made to pay instantly, but Oates was unable to ground a grubber that was placed through. Letting the Bulldogs of the hook for now.

The Bulldogs got another slice of luck with Boyd slipping over as he went to pick up a shallow kick. But it wasn't that simple as Montoya made his best effort to get tackled before getting the ball away to Frawley at the last second for the second Bulldogs try of the half. With the Mbye conversion the Bulldogs took a 8 point lead into the half time break.

Broncos were the first on the board in the second half with an easy try to Glenn after a poor read in defence from the Bulldogs and a nice short ball from Milford and with the conversion they were back within 2. That 2 was made up moments later after some reffing calls that can only be classed as disgraceful ended with Isaako getting a penalty goal.

Another Broncos slip off a kick results in another Bulldogs try,  this time it was Hopoate putting through the kick infield after a line break and with Jack Bird slipping over Holland was there to clean it up for the Bulldogs and score next to the posts, with the conversion the Bulldogs took a 6 point lead with 14 to go.

The Bulldogs looked to be holding on, as the Broncos were making easy metres but just couldn't get over the line. Up steps Roberts with one of his trademark cross field runs, but this time he played the giver as he supplied a short ball to Ofahengaue he barged over under the stick. With the conversion the scores were locked up and Golden Point was minutes away. That was until Mbye was ruled to have interfered on Boyd on a kick chase, resulting in Mbye being binned and Isaako stepping up and kicking the Broncos to victory.
