Luke Brooks stars in Tigers demolition

Wests Tigers 38 defeat the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles 12.

Game Review.
The first half started off brilliantly for the Sea Eagles with a big defensive set to start the game and give us fans what looked like a great game to come for Manly. That changed very quickly however.
The Tigers off the back of a penalty saw them grab the first try of the game to Chris Lawrence courtesy of a brilliant Luke Brooks grubber in goal. The next offensive set for the Tigers saw them given another penalty and followed up again with yet again another penalty to take the boys from Western Sydney out to a 8-0 lead in almost as many minutes. Off the restart we saw Luke Brooks again at his masterclass best sending centre Kevin Naiqama through the line which eventually set the Tigers up for another 6 points through winger Malakai Wetene-Zelezniak.

Manly managed to slow the game down a bit thanks to a few errors by the Tigers, however the pressure continued to build as Manly’s lack of attack and constant defence taking its toll. Eventually the Sea Eagles defence cracked again with Luke Brooks getting a deserving try from a dummy half scoot a metre out from the line to give the Tigers a 20-0 lead. The Tigers weren’t done in the first half but! Another attacking set saw Luke Brooks make an amazing pass to send Benji Marshall through the line and give the Tigers a 26-0 lead heading into half time.
The second half started where it left off for the Manly Sea Eagles, horrible. A few errors to start the half saw the Tiger's favourite son in Benji Marshall step through the defensive line and grab his second try of the game. The try scoring siege finally ended for the Tigers when Manly finally got themselves on the board through a beautiful out the back pass for Joel Thompson to go over. The remainder of the game was hard fought and very back and forth until Manly picked up their second try of the game through winger Brad Parker. The Tigers got the final say of the game though through a penalty try to hooker Jacob Liddle after being held back in a scoring position by Cherry-Evans.
Manly had a better second half with a 12 all second half scoreline, but the Tigers take home the 2 competition points with a convincing 38-12 win.
