The Gold Coast Titans defeated the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles 32-20

The Titans entered this game riding on a high after a huge upset win over the Broncos in Round 4 and boy did this game not disappoint. Manly had lost quite a few players last week including Tom Trbojevic however with the injury toll mounting they never gave up all game.

The Titans were all over Manly in the first half, despite the visitors scoring in the first few minutes. The Titans dominated field position as well as their forwards included in all the highlights. The Titans scored 3 tries in the first half, but they weren't your typical tries.

The first came off a cross field kick from Ash Taylor which was battered back. Usually here it is normally a back rower or centre that picks these balls up, however it was Jarrod Wallace and the Big man waltzed through the defence to score. The only ones to score in remainder of the half for the Titans were Jai Arrow and Morgan Boyle after a Uate error on a kick return.

The Second half was kind of the opposite, with Manly starting to fight back and get into the game. Daly Cherry-Evans struck first in the second half and as the Sea Eagles got more possession they got more dangerous.

The Titans got a little lazy around the ruck and Manly Hooker Api Koroisau noticed this and took a quick dart from dummy half which saw him run straight threw the Titans defence and with a late draw and pass he saw Brian Kelly go over.

From this point it was game on, the Titans were holding on to a 2 point lead with 20 minutes to go, and for the next 13 minutes they had all the pressure against them with Manly running hot. However superb defence saw the visitors still hold onto that lead and after finally getting good field position, a brilliant strike down the short side saw Anthony Don cross over next to the sideline.

With the game almost a certain to be over, Jai Arrow picked up a second try which sealed the victory for the Titans and gave Kevin Proctor the win in his 200th NRL game. Proctor finished the game off taking the conversion and he struck it well adding the extra two points on.

Fewy's Player of the Game: Jai Arrow.
