St Helens vs Hull FC Super League Round 10 Preview

St Helens come into round 10 after a confident showing against Widnes and still seated at the top of the Super League table. Hull scraped through their game against Wakefield, making a late surge followed by a booming Marc Sneyd drop goal giving the Black and White's the victory.

Hull and Saints met three times last year, Hull winning two of the three, the one game they did lose was a 45-0 drumming at home. That one victory was St Helens only win in the last 7 meetings between these teams, to find Saints last home victory over Hull FC you have to go way back to the 21st of February 2014 a 34-22 victory meaning they have won just 2 of their last 10 Super League fixtures against the Black and whites.

St Helens name an unchanged 19 man squad from the team that beat Widnes on Bank Holiday Monday, still without Adam Swift and Alex Walmsley through injury. Hull make 5 changes to their 19 man squad, Houghton, Shaul, Manu, Lane and Tuimavave are all recalled for one of the seasons biggest challenges.

St Helens: Jonny Lomax, Tommy Makinson, Ryan Morgan, Mark Percival, Theo Fages, Matty Smith, James Roby, Kyle Amor, Zeb Taia, Jon Wilkin, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Luke Douglas, Morgan Knowles, Luke Thompson, Dom Peyroux, Danny Richardson, Regan Grace, Matty Lees, Ben Barba.

Hull FC: Jamie Shaul, Carlos Tuimavave, Josh Griffin, Fetuli Talanoa, Albert Kelly, Marc Sneyd, Scott Taylor, Danny Houghton, Mark Minichiello, Josh Bowden,  Jake Connor, Chris Green, Danny Washbrook, Brad Fash, Sika Manu, Jez Litten, Mickey Paea, Jack Logan, Jordan Lane.

This is hands down going to be the game of the week and I'm really struggling to pick a winner between these two sides, obviously Hull have history on their side and a proven track record, however, Saints in previous years haven't been as good as the St Helens we are presented with today. I'm going to a gamble and back Hull to take the win in this game by 0-6.
