Salford Red Devils vs Warrington Wolves Super League Round 10 Preview

Salford face another tough match as they play host to a Warrington side that are growing with confidence week by week. Salford got nilled in their Bank Holiday Monday fixture by the Leeds Rhinos whereas, Warrington edged out Castleford in a difficult game in even more difficult conditions.

Salford did the double over the Wolves last season, in the two meetings between these two sides Salford won the first 24-14 at the AJ Bell before seeing off Warrington on the road, beating them 38-12 at the Helliwell Jones. Those two wins are the only wins Salford have recorded in the last 13 meetings between these two sides, Salford's last victory over Warrington prior to 2017 coming back in 2011 Super League season.

Warrington make only 1 change to their 19 man squad that beat Castleford, Ben Murdoch-Masila is ruled out against his old club due to medial ligament damage that will take 2 to 3 weeks to heal, he is replaced by Morgan Smith, Dec Patton is still suspended. Salford offer a debut to loanee Ryan Shorrocks, they also name Kopczak, Flanagan and Mossop, who were all left out of Monday's loss to Leeds. Niall Evalds is ruled out through a head injury sustained in the aforementioned fixture.

Salford Red Devils: Greg Johnson, Kris Welham, Junior Sa'u, Robert Lui, Jack Littlejohn, Craig Kopczak, Logan Tomkins, Josh Jones, Weller Hauraki, Mark Flanagan, Lama Tasi, Ryan Lannon, Luke Burgess, Ben Nakubuwai, Josh Wood, Derrell Olpherts, Lee Mossop, Jake Bibby, Jake Shorrocks.

Warrington Wolves: Sitaleki Akauola, Ryan Atkins, Kevin Brown, Josh Charnley, Daryl Clark, Mike Cooper, Dominic Crosby, Ben Currie, Bryson Goodwin, Chris Hill, Jack Hughes, George King, Toby King, Tom Lineham, Joe Philbin, Stefan Ratchford, Tyrone Roberts, Morgan Smith, Ben Westwood

Even though Warrington are without a few key names I'm backing them for the two points in this fixture, Salford look like a side that are starting to struggle and last week highlighted that. The Wolves are looking like they are coming back to their best and I quite simply don't believe that Salford have the ability in their ranks to stop them from leaving the AJ Bell with 2 points. Warrington by 13+.
