South Sydney Rabbitohs 42 defeated the Canberra Raiders 22

The South Sydney Rabbitohs took their round 7 game against the Canberra Raiders to the Central Coast and had a perfect start, getting on the board in the 3rd minute through a backline play resulting in a Alex Johnston try.

Minutes later the Rabbitohs were atacking the Raider's line again and this time it was Walker crossing the white line for Bunnies and with Reynolds first conversion of the match the Bunnies were racing the clock at 10-0.

The Rabbitohs left side was on fire early, this time it was George Jennings crossing for his 5th try of the season as he finished a play on the wing after some beautiful lead up work from the 2 previous try scorers. The sideline conversion from Reynolds kept the Bunnies even with the clock at 16-0.

A Bunnies error in their red zone gave the Raiders the perfect chance to attack and they didnt waste the chance to hit back. A backline play from right to left ended with Cotric sneaking over in the corner and with the Croker conversion the Bunnies held a 12 point lead.

The Raiders had a good looking play going down their right side but a poor pass from Sezer seen Greg Inglis take an interception and run 70m to score his 18th try against the Raiders, with the conversion the Bunnies were leading 24-6 after 31 minutes.

The play went from end to end in the last 9 minutes of the half and moments before the siren Wighton took on the defensive line and yet again gave the final pass for another Raiders try through Whitehead and with the conversion the score was 24-12 at half time.

The second half started as the first finished, with both sides making multiple line breaks against the other but failing to cross the line. But a Souths break resulted in a Croker sin binning as the refs ruled he tackled a support player without the ball in a try scoring position... Reynolds took the chance to extend the lead by 2, 26-12.

It didnt take long for Souths to take full advantage of the one man overlap with a lovely flick pass from Gagai resulting in Kennar going over on the right side of the field exactly where Croker defends.

The Bunnies crossed again whilst Croker was still in the bin, with Greg Inglis knocking back a Reynolds crossfield bomb resulting in Jennings getting his second try for the match, the missed conversion seens the Bunnies up 36-12 with 25 to go.

Croker returned to the field but the points continued, Cook out of hooker giving a lovely short ball to Clark next to the post resulting in another 6 points for the Bunnies after the conversion.

Raiders were able to cross the line through Croker with 13 minutes remaining in the first real attack set they had in 20 minutes. But ar 42-16 it was too little too late.

That didn't stop a late Raider's charge though as a pin point grubber through from Sezer seen Whitehead bag himself a double, Croker's conversion took the score to 42-22 and it stayed like that for the final 5 minutes of the game.
