Preview

Sunday afternoon delivers this round 2 rematch between the Parramatta Eels and the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. The Eels are staring down a 7th straight loss to start the season one of those being the 54 nil flogging handed them by Manly earlier this year. While Manly had some troubles of their own in club surrounding Jackson Hastings.

Both clubs will be desperate to put yet another Paul Week behind them and the 2018 season and it's this desperation by both sides that could make this match entertaining.

Key Match Ups.
Clint Gutherson vs Tom Trbojevic
Parramatta's Mr Fix It last year Clint gutherson returned last week after an ACL injury and though he did nothing special he got through the match quite well and this will only help his confidence going into this rounds as he takes on his former club and lines up against a NSW Blues certainty.

Tom Trbojevic was clearly still affected by an ankle injury that kept him out of Manly's round 5 clash yet he was still close to best on ground for his side in last week's defeat. With players past and present giving Tommy praise another strong effort this week could see him land the number one jersey for New South Wales.

Mitch Moses vs Daily Cherry-Evans
Talking about Origin chances Mitch Moses has completely blown his this season with the poor start he's had for Parramatta and if they are any chance of winning on Sunday he needs to out play his opposite number.

For DCE origin is still a possibility with a couple more strong performances and if he can repeat his round 2 effort against the Eels his name will be back in selection talks by 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon.

Tim Mannah vs Martin Taupau
The Eels captain had his best game of the season last week and hopefully for Eels he can come out and produce again. As the leader of the pack a lot of questions have been asked about Mannah and not just about his captaincy but his place in the side. If he can wind back the clock and be the dominant prop on the field it will go a long way for the questions to stop and the wins being chalked up.

As for Taupau more of the same from him will most likely see a Manly Victory. With the Eels defence being poor at best this season coming up against the man with the most offloads in the comp thus far this season it smells trouble for the Eels defence in the middle of the field and if the Taupau is allowed to offload at will a big score line is on the cards again.

Prediction
Call me crazy and I'll accept it but for some reason I can see an Eels Victory, the return of Hayne and Takarangi on one edge, the Jennings brother's back together, Beau Scott dropped, Peni in the middle.
They won't do it easy and it won't be pretty to watch but the Eels will get their first win of the season.
Parramatta 1-6
