Round 6 Review: Warriors v Broncos

Brisbane Broncos 27 defeated New Zealand Warriors 18

With plenty of injuries and a few positional changes the Broncos meant business at Mt Smart Stadium today.

The Warriors were looking to start their season undefeated but it wasn’t looking good when Brisbane jumped out to an early lead just 5 minutes into the match with a try through Corey Oates.

Warriors hit back after a good repeat set from Blake Green and Shaun Johnson threw a perfect pass to David Fusitua to score untouched.

With scores tied at 6 a piece, Johnson kicked a penalty goal and Warriors led 8-6.

Broncos evened up the scores again with a penalty goal.

James Roberts sliced through the Warriors defensive line and gave it to Isaako to score and put the Broncos in front again 14-8 missing the Conversion.

With the match going back and forth the Warriors scored again to even the scores up once more through Blake Green.

With scores locked at 14-14 Broncos Half Anthony Milford put his teams nose in front at half time through a field goal.

Brisbane dominated the second half scoring 2 more tries through Jaydn Su’A and Jamayne Isaako getting his second.

Warriors started to mount a comeback with Shaun Johnson scoring but it stopped short and Brisbane took home the ‘W’ and have the Warriors their first Loss of the season.
