Panthers and Bulldogs put on a show at the foot of the mountain

Penrith Panthers 22 defeated the Canturburry Bulldogs 14

The Panthers started on fire at the foot of the mountain on Friday night against the Bulldogs. But after 15 minutes they were only 2 points up after having 63% posession, unfortunately they also lost fullback Dylan Edwards too a dislocated shoulder and it cost them immediately.

The Bulldogs got a penalty early in the next set and it finished with Montoya going over in the corner after an extremely poor defensive decision from Maloney and with the conversion tha Bulldogs took a 4 point lead.

The loss of Edward's was helping a Bulldogs attack as the continued to attack down their right side, this time it was the centre Hopoate going over after a poor defensive read from Kikau who was now playing centre.

The Panthers finally were able to compose themselves in the final minutes of the first half and were able to cross after earning a repeat set. A backline line play after some quick play the balls and multiple offloads ended with Harawira-Naera crossing and Maloney converting the try resulted with the Panthers heading into the sheds 8-12 down but full of momentum.

The Panther's were first to score in the 6th minute of the second half after a Maloney chip was regathered by Kikau who was able to get an offload away to Peachy then giving it on to Leota who got the ball over the line with a questionable grounding and with Maloneys conversion tha Panthers took a 2 point lead.

That lead didn't last long though as the Bulldogs got a penalty goal only moments later. But with 20 minutes to go the Panthers returned serve with a penalty of their own.

The Panther's crossed again through Yeo on the left hand side after deciding to run it on the last and using the overlap, but with a missed conversion frim Maloney gave the Bulldogs a chance with 12 to go. But Maloney's 3rd penalyy goal of the night gave the Panther's a 8 point lead, which they held onto till the final whistle.
