Raiders beat hapless Eels

Parramatta were travelling to Canberra facing their worst start in their history and hoping to take home their first win for 2018.

Eels came out strong to start but penalties started to creep into their game and the Raiders captilised on it with Jordan Rapana going over for the Raiders first try of the night off a good pass from Joey Leilua.

With Raiders leading 4-0 after Jarrod Croker missed the Conversion Raiders went in again when Blake Austin went through a gaping hole left by Corey Norman. Croker converted to make the score 10-0.

To close the first half the Eels had some momentum and on the stroke of halftime they got their first points through a Moses penalty goal.

Raiders lead at the break 10-2.

Raiders again opened the scoring of the second half with Jarrod Croker kicking a penalty goal.

Heavily tormented the Eels with his runs out of dummy half and he passed a good ball to josh Papalii to score a try with Croker converting it pushed the Raiders out to a comfortable 18-2 lead.

Parramatta kept giving away silly penalties and that was compounded when Daniel Alvaro was sin binned.

Parramatta never looked like troubling the Raiders defensive line even when Luke Bateman was sent to the bin.

Raiders went on to win the match.
