KR Shock As Minns Tests Positive For Banned Substance

Hull Kingston Rovers have confirmed that centre Thomas Minns has tested positive for a "banned non-performance enhancing substance".

Has thus far had been having a great season with the Rovers in 2018, scoring 4 tries in 10 games and working very hard defensively.

The Robins are yet to suspend Minns but instead have put him on extended leave, the club will also be providing the centre with the support he needs to get him back on the straight and narrow, put the breach down to personal issues away from the game and the recent passing of his mother.

In an open and honest manner Minns addressed the issue stating "I want to personally apologise to everyone involved who I have let down and disappointed.
I admit to taking a banned substance on Mothers' Day 2018, which was a hugely difficult day for me following the passing of my mother last year.
"I was low and depressed on the day and I felt at the time I needed to do it to get through. I now totally accept that it was huge mistake which could cost me my career.".
Minns will plead guilty when he goes in front of the RFL, however, he will ask for his circumstances to be taken into account and hope that the potential penalty is waved based on his plea.
