Giants Release Symonds

The Huddersfield Giants have released forward Tom Symonds from his contract, the aforementioned contract was still valid until the end of the 2019 season.

The cause of this sudden departure was injuries, Symonds has been in and out of the Huddersfield casualty ward since his arrival at the beginning of the 2017 season, he is just 1 month away from returning to fitness but both club and player have decided a fresh start is needed.
Symonds partner is due to give birth to their first child so he is due to return to Australia, this has sparked rumours that an injury hit Sea Eagles side could be in line to bag the 29 year-old after he previously spent 3 years with the Northern Beaches club.

Since Symonds arrival in 2017 the forward has made just 12 appearances, this has been another huge driving factor of the decision to grant him release.

We'll keep you updated on the story as it unfolds.
