Castleford Tigers vs Catalans Dragons Super League Round 11 Preview

The Mend-A-Hose Jungle welcomes the Catalans Dragons that will be both fired up and heavily demoralised after taking a 23 point lead last week and somehow losing their grip on the game, Castleford too were involved in a close affair in round 10 before seeing off their opponents in the last 15 minutes.

Castleford and Catalans met twice back in the 2017 season, the Tigers the winners on both occasions, the largest win was by 17 points and the tightest win was by just 8 points. Catalans last win over the Tigers came all the way back in round 8 of Super League 2016, this means that they have won just 1 of their last 5 meetings with Castleford and their form on the road at the Tigers is even worse, the last time they left the Jungle with any points was back in round 4 of the 2013 season which was a 17-17 draw.

Castleford are forced to make two changes both through injury, Greg Eden and Junior Moors are both ruled out and replaced by James Clare and Matt Cook. Catalans make three changes to the side that came up short against Wigan in round 10, Paul Aiton, Louis Anderson and Greg Bird are all out of the 19 man squad, replaced by; Lewis Tierney, Lucas Albert and Alrix Da Costa.

Castleford Tigers: James Clare, Matt Cook, Jamie Ellis, Alex Foster, Luke Gale, Oliver Holmes, Nathan Massey, Mike McMeeken, Paul McShane, Grant Millington, Adam Milner, Greg Minikin, Ben Roberts, Michael Shenton, Gadwin Springer, Jake Trueman, Joe Wardle, Liam Watts, Jake Webster.

Catalans Dragons: David Mead, Jodie Broughton, Iain Thornley, Brayden Williame, Fouad Yaha, Samisoni Langi, Remi Casty, Alrix Da Costa, Sam Moa, Lucas Albert, Benjamin Garcia, Lewis Tierney, Julian Bousquet, Mickael Simon, Jason Baitieri, Thibaud Margalet, Michael McIlorum, Benjamin Jullien, Tony Gigot.

I'm predicting a Castleford win here for obvious reasons, the form, the recent history and Catalans are not a great travelling team, the Tigers are missing a few key names through injury but ultimately I still believe they have the fire power to run this game home, Castleford by 13+.
