Wakefield Trinity vs Castleford Tigers Super League Round 8 Preview

Wakefield host the Castleford Tigers as Trinity look to end a 2 game losing streak after their perfect start to the season, granted the two games they have lost have been against very difficult opponents.

These two sides met 3 times in 2017, the first meeting was a Trinity win, the second and third however, would go the way of the Tigers. In their last 10 meetings the Tigers have come away with the 2 points on offer 8 times. An even more damning stat is the fact that Wakefield haven't beaten the Tigers at Belle Vue since April 2nd 2010.

Wakefield make three changes from the side that lost to Warrington last week, Fifita, Kirmond and Batchelor drop out of the 19 for Arona, Arundel and Wood. The Tigers make just the one change, Jy Hitchcox is replaced by Oliver Holmes as he makes his return from suspension.

Wakefield Trinity: Arona, Arundel, Ashurst, Caton-Brown, England, Finn, Scott, Hampshire, Hirst, Horo, Huby, Johnstone, Jones-Bishop, Lyne, Miller, Pauli, Randell, Tupou, Wood.

Castleford Tigers: Clare, Cook, Ellis, Foster, Gale, Green, Holmes, Massey, McMeeken, McShane, Millington, Milner, Minikin, Moors, Roberts, Shenton, Springer, Trueman, Webster.

I am going to have to back the Tigers on this one, Wakefield clearly have a problem dealing with the Tigers at home plus a poor head to head record against them too. Trinity are also without two their key forwards for yet another difficult game, I'm going Tigers by 6-12.
