Hull had shown great defence but when Fijian wrecking ball Ben Nakubuwai was given the ball just 5 metres from the line,he used his size and strength to force his way over, Lui converting to tie the game at 8-8.

Washbrook would give away a penalty just a minute from the half,Lui going 3/3 to send Salford into the sheds with a surprise lead.

Salford would break the second half deadlock after Johnson got loose from dummy half, offloading to Sau who would tip on for Littlejohn to score, Lui missing for the first time tonight.

Lui would add yet more points, this time through a try, adding his own extras to give Salford a 20-8 lead. Salford weren't quite finished,Johnson with an acrobatic effort into the corner to add insult to injury,Lui hitting the post to see the match finish 24-8 Salford.
