Castleford Tigers vs Salford Round 5 Preview

A good win for the Tigers would see them shoot up the Super League table and into 3rd place, as they claim their 3rd win from 4 games.

Salford need to get their second win of the season under their belt as they look to lift themselves from the bottom end of the table, a loss of 19+ points would see Salford move to dead last in the table. As far as head to heads go, Castleford won 2 out of the 3 meetings between these two sides in 2017, Salford's win coming in 13-12 victory at home.

The Tigers are still without Greg Eden and Joe Wardle, both players sustained Hamstring injuries during the clash with Hull FC almost two weeks ago, Jy Hitchcox is also missing from the Castleford 17. Salford make only one change from the side that took on Saints, Kopczak is out for Griffin in the forwards.

Castleford - James Clare, Matt Cook, Jamie Ellis, Alex Foster, Luke Gale, James Green, Oliver Holmes, Nathan Massey, Mike McMeeken, Paul McShane, Grant Millington, Adam Milner, Greg Minikin, Junior Moors, Ben Roberts, Jesse Sene-Lefao, Michael Shenton, Jake Trueman, Jake Webster.

Salford - Gareth O'brien, Greg Johnson, Kris Welham, Junior Sa'u, Niall Evalds, Robert Lui, Jack Littlejohn, Logan Tomkins, George Griffin, Josh Jones, Weller Hauraki, Mark Flanagan, Lama Tasi, Luke Burgess, Tyrone Mccarthy, Ben Nakubuwai, Josh Wood, Lee Mossop, Jake Bibby.

I'm backing the Tigers to take the win in this game, they have named a really strong squad, plus the Jungle is a very tough place to go and pick up 2 points. I'm going to say the Tigers take this game by 12 points plus.
