Walmsley Commits To Saints

England International forward, Alex Walmsley, has committed to a 4 year extension with St Helens in the Super League.

This is a huge boost for the club ahead of their opening game against Castleford this weekend, it looked fairly certain that Walmsley would be the latest English forward to play in Australia, especially with a host of clubs reportedly chasing his signature.

Last years biggest metre maker in Super League has just shy of 150 games for the Saints, committing to a 4 year extension sees his new contract run until the end of 2023.

St George Illawarra looked odds on favourites to win the race for Walmsley's signature, various media outlets reporting a done deal announcement was imminent, however Saints and Super League retain one of their biggest talents.
