Time to get out the crystal ball. EELS

With less than 8 weeks away from the start of the NRL season, we continue to gaze into the crystal ball as we continue to go through what we believe will be your teams best 17 heading into their 2018 campaign.

1 Clint Gutherson
2 Bevan French
3 Michael Jennings
4 Jarryd Hayne
5 Kirisome Auva'a
6 Corey Norman
7 Mitchell Moses
8 Tim Mannah
9 Cameron King
10 Dan Alvaro
11 Manu Ma'u
12 Tepai Moeroa
13 Nathan Brown
14 Will Smith
15 Kenny Edwards
16 Kane Evans
17 Suaia Matagi

Gutherson may not be available for the Eels round 1 but when the team is at full fitness he will definitely be ahead of Hayne and French for the fullback position.
It's unclear what position Hayne will end up playing, but money is on centre meaning Kiwis centre Brad Takarangi will be making way.

The Eels will head into 2018 season with Norman and Moses controlling the side, with both players being named in their states emerging squads during the off season.
Mannah will start alongside Alvaro upfront, with Cameron King in the hooker role and Kaysa Pritchard missing out on a spot in the 17.
The second row and lock will be the same as the year finished with Mau, Moeroa and Brown. Thus leaving us with the bench. Will Smith will be one of 2 utility type players the Eels will have on the bench, with his ability to play 1-7 and slot in at hooker of required. He will be joined by Edwards who's size and power will allow Arthur to use him as a forward utility coming on for impact.
The Eels second major signing Kane Evans will also come of the bench and give the side the much needed impact that they lacked in times last year and due to the limited minutes Mannah played last year expect NRL veteran Beau Scott to get limited matches with  Matagi and Terepo fighting out for the last spot on the bench.

Will this side be able to improve on last year's straight sets exit from the finals?

Boom
